Pt. Loma Kitchen Remodel

The original house was built in the 1950's with an addition added on in the 70's for the existing kitchen and family room with a small porch leading to the back yard.

The goal was to expand the small, dark kitchen into a bright and airy great room that would maximize the ocean and sunset views. The wall between the kitchen and family room was removed opening up the space into a galley kitchen with a center island and bar. A closet opening was reoriented to create a walk in pantry eliminating most of the overhead cabinets on the west facing wall. An 8' window was installed on the west wall to bring in the ocean and sunset views and a wrap around covered deck built off of the kitchen. Custom cabinets, granite counter tops and hardwood floors were installed along with a skylight and fireplace.
*An Ava's Choice Design Award winning kitchen.
